Wearing Blush in Winter: This is How You Do It

A good quality blush should of course not be missing in your make-up bag. This colored powder or cream comes in handy every season. However, in winter you wear blush in a different way than in winter. We’ll explain why and what to look out for.

Blush is the perfect way to look healthy and radiant in winter

Tip 1: Moisturize your skin

In winter, good skin care is especially important. The cold temperatures sometimes cause red and irritated skin. Fortunately, you can prevent such problems by moisturizing your skin well. In fact, you already apply a protective layer. Wash your face thoroughly in the morning and  apply a good facial oil. Only then use make-up. You will step into the winter cold with a nourished and radiant skin!

Tip 2: Use bronzer and blush

A blush is not the same as a bronzer. Bronzer is a brown powder that you apply to your skin. This gives your skin a lovely sun-kissed tint. It’s one of the make-up techniques that makes sure your skin stays healthy even in winter. Some people think they have to choose between blush and bronzer. However, we have some good news for you: you don’t have to. In fact, we recommend warming up your skin with a bronzer first. Then apply blush to your skin. The bronzer will make you look tanned and healthy, while the blush will make your face fresh and clear.

Tip 3: Apply blush with your fingers

We recommend applying blush gently with your fingers first. Due to the warmth of your hands, the product melts slowly, making it easier to apply. Tap the blush gently on your cheeks first. Then mix it with your fingers or a small brush. Do you prefer a matte look? No worries, apply a little face powder to the area where you applied the blush.

Tip 4: Avoid pink and opt for dark blush

Soft pink makeup fits perfectly with the summer. At warmer temperatures your skin usually gets a nice tan, and that’s where cheerful and bright colors go well with it. In winter we recommend to accentuate your face with darker shades. It’s better to wear dark makeup than bright pink. A blush of rusty red, for example, is perfect to combine with winter lipstick and eye shadow. Combine your makeup with neutral winter clothing to complete the picture.

Tip 5: Apply blush under your cheekbones

Always apply a blush just below your cheekbones. This will accentuate the most beautiful parts of your face. It also gives your face a healthy and natural color. And who doesn’t want that in winter? When applying makeup, open your mouth wide. This makes your cheekbones clearly visible. This makes applying blush in the right places a piece of cake.

Tip 6: Accentuate your cheeks and cheekbones

Are you known for your blushing apple cheeks? Nothing to be ashamed of! In winter you can accentuate this by applying a little white powder on your cheekbones, just above your blush. Mix well to accentuate your cheekbones and cheeks. Bet this trick will make you look healthier and more radiant than ever?
