Who doesn’t want a healthy, glowing skin? With these five tips you keep your skin in perfect condition.
1. Make cleansing and moisturizing a routine
I’m sure you’ve heard it before: don’t go to bed without taking your makeup off. And of course, we all don’t feel like it sometimes. However, try to keep this to a minimum and make it a regular routine. After all, cleansing is one of the most important parts of your skin care routine. If your skin hasn’t been cleansed properly, it won’t be able to recover properly at night. Preferably use a cleansing milk and toner and no cleansing wipes, which are not mild enough. After cleansing, apply a night cream. Many people simply use their day cream before going to bed, but that’s not ideal. There are different ingredients in a day cream than in a night cream.
During the day, of course, you go for a moisturizing day cream. Before you buy the necessary products, first determine what skin type you have. Do you have dry, oily or combination skin? For an optimal result, choose products that suit your skin type. Preferably use neutral skin products without perfume and allergens. For example, you can take a look at the skin care range of Clinique or Vichy. Once you have the right skin care products in your home, don’t forget that you can’t keep them for too long. There is an expiration date for care products. By the way, you don’t have to buy them in the store: there are natural skin care products that you just have in the fridge.
2. Scrub regularly
By exfoliating, you remove the dead skin cells. That’s why your skin will feel fine after exfoliation. In addition, it ensures fewer pimples and you will tan faster. Scrubbing is recommended for both the body and the face, but don’t use the same scrub for that. The skin on your face is very sensitive, so you need a special facial scrub. Scrubbing is an indispensable part of your skin care routine, but don’t do it too often. This can even be bad for your skin. Exactly how often it is desired depends on your skin. Oily skin may be scrubbed more often than dry skin. This can vary from twice a week to twice a month.
3. Protect your skin from the sun
Although sunlight can give you a nice tan, it also does many bad things for your skin. For example, it contributes to skin aging. Don’t only protect your skin if you sunbathe consciously, because the sun also affects your skin unnoticed. Apply sunscreen and preferably wear a hat or cap when you’re sitting in the full sense of the word. Always try to avoid getting sunburned as this will damage your skin. Choose a day cream with SPF, also in winter. SPF protects your skin against UV rays.
4. Pay attention to your shower rituals
Admittedly, it can be wonderful to take a hot shower every now and then. But it’s not really good for your skin. Especially if you have dry skin this is not a great idea. Your skin will only dry out further from it. It is also good to take a cold shower. It will take a while, but it will make your skin smooth and tight. After showering you dry your skin gently with a towel. Be absolutely not too rough.
5. Ensure a healthy lifestyle
Skin care comes partly from within. A healthy diet contributes significantly to a glowing skin. Especially enough fruits and vegetables can do wonders. Unhealthy snacks are disastrous for your skin. Drinking water, an average of 1.5 to 2 liters per day, is also essential for healthy skin. It doesn’t need any explanation that cigarettes are better left out.
In addition, a good night’s sleep is important. How many hours of sleep you need differs slightly per person, basically it’s between 6 and 8 hours. If you’ve slept badly, you often see this immediately on your skin. Finally, it is advisable to exercise sufficiently. Exercise stimulates the blood circulation, which in turn is good for your skin. Try to find a sport that you really like, so you can keep up more easily.
